Overview
Orange forms part of France Telecom, a large European conglomerate serving more than 170 million customers worldwide. With a substantial existing mobile phone customer base, the consolidation of Wanadoo (formerly Freeserve) under the Orange umbrella in 2006 allowed it to grow to its current position with over one million broadband customers in the UK and 11.6 million across Europe.
Orange has commenced a gradual rollout of its own equipment into local exchanges, and has unbundled a relatively modest 320 to date.

The Verdict
Orange is able to offer some great pricing for its broadband and talk products, especially if you happen to be an existing Orange customer.
If you are not in an Orange Broadband network area you may still be able to get Orange Broadband but you will be charged a premium price for service to be provided via the BT infrastructure.
